So here is my run down of the seven BEST gifts you could buy for your yoga loving friend or family member this Christmas. I’ve amalgamated this collection together as I’ve had a few people ask me what I would recommend. There's so many yoga products and gifts out there but don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.
1. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras book
Amazon.com £14.99
This is one of the key texts in the yoga canon and is an essential read for your yoga loving friend if they’re looking to delve a little deeper into the philosophical side. Sage Patanjali offers solutions for mastering the mind and achieving harmony throughout one’s life. Definitely not a light read but a good one to start their yoga collection going.
2. Yogamatters sticky yoga mat
Yogamatters.com £16
The same mats that we use in class, durable, great colour options and support you when your palms get sweaty. This sticky mat is a great place to start for your first mat but check out the yogamatters website for some eco friendly versions and travel mats!
3. Foam Roller
Decathlon £12.99
Sciatic pains giving them some grief? Some achy pains in the legs or down the back? Decathlon have a great range of massage tools like foam rollers and massage balls which are cost friendly and the same as the one I have at home. Not your typical ‘I love you, merry christmas’ gift but for sure a useful one!
4. Yoga socks
Decathalon £6.99
Do you know that they aren’t their own fan when it comes to their feet? Then these yoga toe socks are DEFINITELY for them! They’re super grippy and padahastasana will not be compromised by these bad boys!
5. Lavender Scented Eye pillow
Etsy £8.00
We LOVE our eye pillows in class but, unfortunately at the end of class, they go back into their bag and remain unseen until next week. But by giving the gift of the eye pillow, your bestie will be able use their eye pillow during their own yoga practise at home, in bed to help them sleep, to pop on if a nasty headache or migraine rears it’s head, when life gets too much and they need to nap, to procrastinate instead of doing the ironing..
6. Diffuser
Amazon.com £25.99
I love my diffuser. And this one from Asakuki is great because it has two intensity settings, heaps of colour options and a timer if you want to set it for when you go to sleep a night. I would recommend purchasing a set of essential oils to go with it if you’re buying for a gift. Lemongrass and lavender are two of my favourites!
1. Himalayan Salt Lamp
Amazon £10-£25
If your yogi friend is looking to create a bit of a zen space at home, make it a bit more cosy with one of these Himalayan salt lamps. They emit a warming glow which really sets the tone for your practise, especially on these cold, dark mornings. Also, its pure salt. Not that I’ve licked mine..
